Article: Rhinolaryngoscopic examination of patients with the multiple chemical sensitivity syndrome.

CLINICIANS in several specialties are increasingly confronted by patients who claim that a variety of symptoms are caused by exposures to multiple odorous chemical inhalants. A consensus is developing that better data are needed concerning this condition. A recent workshop by the National Research Council recommended well-designed clinical studies for this condition. In anticipation of such studies, an anomaly observed in these patients during the past year is reported.
