Oct. 6--Express Scripts Inc. said Wednesday that it is advising its employer clients to adopt a drug formulary for 2006 that will steer employees to use the cholesterol-lowering drug Zocor over Lipitor, the world's best-selling drug.
Zocor, made by Merck & Co., is coming off patent in June and Express Scripts, a pharmacy benefit management company based in Maryland Heights, wants its clients and patients in position to benefit immediately when the generic version becomes available, Express Scripts spokesman Steve Littlejohn said.
