A new housing development underway in Minnetonka is using an innovative design to try to solve two formidable problems: How to protect the environment while building on one of the last undeveloped parcels in the city, and how to provide affordable housing in a neighborhood of million-dollar homes.
Twenty-five luxury homes are going up on a 24-acre tract off Crosby Road in Minnetonka, but about 60 percent of the land will remain open space permanently.
