Davis-Ulmer Sprinkler Co., of Buffalo, a family-owned fire protection company with 80 employees in the Syracuse area, has been acquired by a privately held Minnesota company.
It will continue to operate independently, company officials said Wednesday.
APi Group Inc., of St. Paul, bought Davis-Ulmer for an undisclosed sum, adding it to a family of construction-related companies that employ 6,000 people and bring in $900 million in annual revenues.
In addition to Davis-Ulmer, APi owns 26 independently managed companies grouped into five specialties, the largest of which is fire protection services.
