TORONTO, ONTARIO, Oct 7, 2005 (CCNMatthews via COMTEX) -- The Canadian Renewable Fuels Association today welcomed the final Ontario Renewable Fuel Standard, requiring 5% ethanol in the province's fuel supply by 2007, as good news for consumers hit with high gas prices.
"Canadians feeling the cost high gas prices should welcome today's announcement," said Canadian Renewable Fuels Executive Director Kory Teneycke. "The Renewable Fuel Standard will spur the construction of five new ethanol plants, increase our overall supply of fuel, and as a result moderate prices at the pump."
