NEW GOLF RESORT ON ABACO. Peter de Savary plans to invest US$250 million to build a new golf resort on 500 acres at Winding Bay, Abaco, reports Caribbean Net News (July 28, 2005):
The project will include stables, a spa, exercise room, a clubhouse, a restaurant, gardens, and 70 one-bedroom villas. The club expects to have a staff of 200 Bahamian staff by December 2005 when the first set of 20 the club's villas are completed, he said. Membership in the Abaco Club is US$65,000.
