WENTWORTH -- There were flying cows, killer tornadoes and a bunch of yahoo storm-chasers in the 1996 blockbuster movie "Twister."

But what caught Jake Wilson's eye were all those wild-looking windmills that surrounded the home of one of the characters.

For almost a decade now, the Rockingham County man has kind of mirrored the movies by decorating his front yard with windmills he has created from bicycle parts, aluminum siding, tin cans, old mirrors and whatever else he can find.

At one time, there were six windmills in front of his Wentworth home on N.C. 87. But wind and car accidents have knocked down three of them.
