OFFICIALLY, the search continues for someone to run the dreadfully-named Olympic Delivery Authority, the body that will handle the building of the infrastructure for London's 2012 games.
As City Spy has reported, it's an open secret in Whitehall and the Mayor's office that David Higgins, chief executive of English Partnerships, is the preferred choice. It now seems the involvement of Australian Higgins, who played a key role in the construction of Bluewater and the Sydney Olympics site while running Lend Lease, has moved up a gear. Despite the lack of an announcement, he is understood to be already chairing high-level meetings on the project. Most odd.
