After watching No. 9 state-ranked Canastota drive downfield and score the game's first touchdown on a seven-yard jaunt by tailback Jason Sgarlata, unbeaten Hannibal (6-0) mounted a strong rally.
The Warriors used a powerful rushing game to defeat the previously-unbeaten Red Raiders 41-12 in a Class C West football showdown at Canastota Saturday night.
With the win, coach John Manion's Hannibal Warriors seized sole ownership of first place in the league, dropping two-time defending champion Canastota (5-1) into a second-place tie with Tully.
