12 OCTOBER 2005 SUVA (Fiji) - Described as one of best court systems in the world dealing with juveniles, the New Zealand Youth Court may be ideal for Pacific Island Countries in dealing with juvenile delinquents.
New Zealand's Youth Court is based on the Family Group Conferencing (FCG) where informal meeting of the young offender, his or her extended family, the young person's lawyer (or Youth advocate), the victim with supporters, police, social workers and members of the community.
