Article: Mukhopadhyay Kolkata, Oct 16 (PTI) The damage control exercise by West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadev Bhattacharjee assuring the IT and ITeS sector that strikes would not disrupt their operations in future, particularly when its trade union front C ITU has refused to accept it, has left opposition political parties unconvinced.

The main opposition Trinamool Congress, besides Congress and BJP, have expressed doubt whether the chief minister's assurance would work.

"Earlier also, Bhattacharjee had made a similar statement that IT and ITeS sector would not be hit during a strike but the CITU-sponsored September 29 general strike has made it clear that such an assurance has no real value," senior Trinamool Congress leader Saugata Roy said.

The issue came to the fore when CITU workers prevented IT professionals at different points in the city from attending work in the IT hub at Salt Lake.
