Article: Ahmedabad, Oct 17 (PTI) The combined business turnover of all dairy co-operatives under National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) in India reached Rs 11,000 crores in 2004-05 while milk procurement crossed 20 million kg per day for the first time, reg istering a 15 per cent increase over the previous year.

According to a recently released annual report of NDDB for the year 2004-05, the enhanced procurement was not matched by liquid milk marketing which rose only by about five per cent, a company release said here today.
Some of the highlights of the NDDB's report included the board's support for 'Clean Milk Production' which was extended to 5,663 villages in the country and the NDDB-managed semen stations producted 12.18 million semen doses for effective breeding programmes.
