The acquisition of the privately-held global Internet communications company Skype by online marketplace eBay (Nasdaq:EBAY) has been completed, following the acquisition agreement announced on 12 September 2005.
eBay acquired all outstanding shares of Skype, in accordance with the terms of the agreement, for a total up-front consideration of around EUR2.1bn (about USD2.5bn), plus potential performance-based consideration.
