When Chantilly Crushed Stone, Chantilly, Va., first broke ground in 1958, the quarry was well situated for an important job: the construction of Dulles International Airport, which was being built to serve the growing Washington, D.C., area. Being adjacent to the site of the airport allowed the operation to supply the many tons of stone it took to construct the facility.

Washington Dulles International Airport is still right next door and remains a customer to this day, however, the quarry now supplies stone to a variety of other customers as well, most importantly to a ready mix plant and asphalt plant leased to other companies on the quarry property.
