THIENSVILLE, WIS. -- Only 6 percent of Wisconsin residents who took part in a recent poll say they think elected officials most often represented constituents' interests on important issues. The survey of 600 residents commissioned by the Wisconsin Policy Research Institute, which was released today, showed 47 percent of those taking part said elected officials were representing their own interests, while 41 percent said public officials are attuned to special interests.
Six percent did not respond to the question.
