LIVERPOOL city councillors last night vowed to keep Alder Hey Children's Hospital in Liverpool, and fight any attempt to move it out of the city.
The hospital is planning to build a replacement hospital at a cost of pounds 300m that would take land adjoining Alder Hey in Springfield Park.
The hospital management has looked at several sites which could accommodate the hospital and its new "health park", including Widnes.
Last night councillors said they would not allow the pioneering hospital to be "poached".
