Tourism has become a widely shared experience in the modern world. It is a recognized form of leisure with attributes that allow it to be investigated like other forms of leisure behavior. But the study of tourism from a sociological perspective is still in diapers. Most of the research concerning tourism has been market driven and has not started with any theory of human behavior or theory of tourism.
