The busy work of the off-season awaits, happily on hold for Chicago White Sox general manager Ken Williams until after the World Series. When Williams does begin shaping his club's 2006 roster, he'll tackle a to-do list that begins with first baseman Paul Konerko.
Konerko can file for free agency after the Series, and the combination of his performance in the postseason and a weak free-agent market has only enhanced his value.
"I've made no bones about it," Williams said. "Priority No. 1 when this is all said and done is to try and get him signed."
