Oct. 21--In the cyclical climate of aircraft manufacturing, Raytheon Aircraft is on the climb.

Evidence of improved business has been felt in Salina, where 22 people have been hired in the past six months. Net employment has risen by 50 to 362 workers in Salina in the past year, said Mike Hammond, director of the Salina division.

"I feel good. The industry's strong," he said.

The Salina division makes wings for the majority of airplanes Raytheon builds in Wichita, specifically the Beechcraft King Airs, the Beechcraft Bonanza G35 and the Beechcraft Baron G58.
