We've pedaled only a third of the way up the agonizingly steep gravel road to Terror Creek Winery, and I'm ready to declare the altitude debate closed.
Is Colorado's Terror Creek the world's highest winery? Damn right it is, my tortured lungs scream. Forget the noncommercial qualifier that elevates some obscure homescale operation in the Himalayas of Bhutan.
If you're talking real vineyards, real vinifera varietals and a real winery replete with commercial tasting room, Terror Creek's elevation of 6,417 feet is tops.
