THIS was the spectacular scene as the Battle of Trafalgar bicentenary celebrations reached a dramatic finale last night.
Crowds in Trafalgar Square saw Nelson's Column bathed in light and watched Royal Marine Commandos abseil down the illuminated face of the National Gallery to the sound of gunfire.
The Spirit of Trafalgar show, marking 200 years of naval history, ended a weekend of more than 6,000 events.
