Oct. 22--Central Florida continues to create jobs at high speed and once again celebrates a very low unemployment rate. It's a recipe for success, but it comes with a few too many leftovers, a new study reveals: 20,000 unfilled jobs, many of them in low-paying retail and restaurant occupations.
The survey, released Friday by Workforce Central Florida, showed that the five-county area around Orlando leads the state in the number of jobs that go begging each day.
Miami-Dade was second with 19,000 and Palm Beach was third with almost 15,000 vacancies.
