WASHINGTON--Health insurance companies will have a changed role in the future under the Clinton administration's health care reform plan, according to a high ranking presidential adviser.

Managed care will be an increasing part of the health care system, and "medical underwriting will disappear," Ira Magaziner, the President's senior policy development adviser, told some 300 business people last week at a National Association of Manufacturers' briefing.
