More often dermatology clinicians are being asked by patients whether they should be spending more time in the sun to supplement their vitamin D intake. Despite the agreement by medical experts that increasing exposure to natural and artificial ultraviolet (UV) light is not recommended as a supplemental source of vitamin D, many people still believe the rays from sunlight and tanning salons aid in converting vitamin D in the body.
