Central New York goes to the polls on Nov. 8 to elect county, town and city officials and some judges.
The Post-Standard has compiled a primer for voters, based on advice from officials from local elections boards:
Who can vote?
In a general election, any citizen who is age 18 at the date of election and who has registered to vote may vote.
Voters must have lived at their present address at least 30 days before an election, not be in jail or on parole for a felony conviction, and not claim the right to vote elsewhere.
