With evolution and creationism - whoops, make that intelligent design - so very much in the news this year, there couldn't be a better time to revive Peter Goodchild's 1991 play ``The Great Tennessee Monkey Trial.''
The show, produced by L.A. Theatre Works, has a single performance Tuesday night at Eugene's Hult Center as part of its 23-city tour.
Goodchild wrote the play to update the classic "Inherit the Wind," the Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee play that fictionalizes the story of the epic 1925 court battle over evolution between Clarence Darrow and William Jennings Bryan. (The play was later made ...
