Cybertrust, a provider of information security services, announced on Wednesday (26 October) the results of its study of 700 enterprises on the impact of the Zotob worm to organisations worldwide.
Zotob impacted systems running Microsoft Windows 2000 in mid-August 2005, congesting networks with worm traffic and causing emergency patch deployments. According to CyberTrust, compared to earlier worm outbreaks such as SQL Slammer or Sasser, Zotob adversely impacted significantly fewer organisations.
