Article: New Delhi, Oct 27 (PTI) After having missed the Asian championships, bantamweight Akhil Kumar and lightwelter pugilists Som Bahadur Punn have been included in the four-member team for the World Championships to be held in China from November 12 to 2 1.

The Indian Amateur Boxing Federation today announced the team which also included World junior bronze medallist Suranjay Singh (lightfly) and Olympian Vijender (welter) as the other three members.

"We wanted to send only those boxers who have any chance of winning medals in the world competition. We did not just want to send them for the sake of representating the country in all categories," IABF General Secretary Col Muralidharan Raja told PTI, justifying the selection of a small team.
