The city of New Orleans holds special significance for many of us wireless industry old-timers. It has been by far the most frequent site of the annual CTIA Wireless showcase and exhibition, North America's premier industry convention. The 2005 show was again in the Big Easy, and as usual attendees (including me) enjoyed the many quintessential New Orleans attractions.
Because of this CTIA show tie-in, I am sure that many in the industry have been particularly saddened and dismayed by the recent devastation that hurricanes Katrina and Rita wrought on the Big Easy and surrounding areas.
