GRACIELA
The robust spirit and love in Graciela's laugh could launch a million smiles. Although plagued by aches and pains at her advanced age, the "First Lady of Latin Jazz" says she feels good most of the time, while speaking by phone from her New York City home.
As one of the main female performers during the mambo era (as lead vocalist of the popular Machito Orchestra), she was chosen as a recipient of New York's International LatÃn Music Hall of Fame (ILMHF) Lifetime Achievement Award and has garnered a Grammy nomination this year for Inolvidable, an album she recorded with Cándido Camero.
