Talk about the perfect use of the human voice as an instrument.
The a cappella group Sweet Honey in the Rock raised a near-sellout crowd to its feet Sunday afternoon in Goldstein Auditorium by showing what a glorious thing a well-used voice can be.
While they sang a delightful mix of gospel, blues and spirituals, the six women in the Washington, D.C.-based group - Ysaye Maria Barnwell, Nitanju Bolade Casel, Aisha Kahlil, Carol Maillard, Louise Robinson and Arnae - demonstrated all of the best traits of their voices.
