Article: Glitch halts trading on TSE.

Nov. 1--TOKYO--A computer malfunction brought trading at the Tokyo Stock Exchange to a standstill for more than four hours Tuesday.

Transactions on all of the 2,520 issues traded at Asia's largest bourse were stalled from 9 a.m. until it recovered at 1:30 p.m. The Fukuoka and Sapporo stock exchanges were also forced to suspend trading as they share the TSE system.

The Osaka Securities Exchange, on the other hand, saw trading boosted as investors rushed to the nation's second-largest market, while the TSE was down for the majority of the trading day.
