In the White Sox' perfect world - and that's exactly what it is right now - each and every player from their 2005 World Series team would return next season.
The Sox have exclusive negotiating rights with free-agent first baseman Paul Konerko until Nov. 11, when he's eligible to hit the open market.
If the Sox fail to bring back Konerko, their undisputed leader on and off the field, a large portion of their happy fan base could quickly sour.
While the White Sox are preparing to make a competitive offer to Konerko, they decided Monday to pass on designated hitter Carl Everett's $5 million option for 2006.
