Freed out of mangled car:
Crews scrambled to free a woman trapped in her mangled car after a two-vehicle wreck Sunday in Streamwood. After a lengthy extrication, in which firefighters tore off the car's door and roof, a helicopter flew Maria Senne, 29, of Streamwood, to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, Streamwood Fire Department Battalion Chief Mark Hudson said. She's listed in fair condition, a hospital nursing supervisor said. A Chevrolet Blazer struck Senne's Chrysler Sebring around 11 a.m. about 300 yards east of routes 59 and 19, Hudson said.
