When the Mountain West Conference reached down into the Lone Star State and added Texas Christian University, league honchos figured they were getting this:

A smallish private school with a solid, across-the-board athletic program, a sterling athletic tradition and an excellent academic reputation in a big television market.

What they didn't figure on was TCU immediately becoming the league's football bully.

But that's what has happened, and it's up to Colorado State to halt the Horned Frogs' inaugural-year blitz through the MWC. Upwardly mobile CSU will attempt to derail TCU's title run ...
