When Mike Burdick invites the guys to play poker, he's not thinking about what to serve.
This Schaumburg dad slow cooks pork butt in his backyard smoker, surfs the Web for recipes and gourmet foods and ferments his own lemon liqueur. But when it comes to poker night, it's all about the cards.
Unlike some women I know who look at book group meetings and Tupperware parties as an excuse to trot out favorite appetizer recipes or dazzle friends with new desserts, guys don't seem to have that same gene.
