Destiny USA's development team said Tuesday it hopes to start construction on the second, larger phase of the project including the building of 12,000 hotel rooms even before it completes the initial expansion of the Carousel Center.
Michael Lorenz, Destiny's chief executive officer, told about 60 people at a briefing the development team is already working on the financing for the bigger project even while it's working to start the initial expansion.
The initial expansion will add 848,000 square feet of leasable space to the Carousel mall. The company said it will cost $375 million.
