How do you fill a 6-foot-11, 260-pound void?
Denver Nuggets general manager Kiki Vandeweghe pondered the question with his tray table down and his seat not necessarily in its upright position.
"The first thing you do is make a list," Vandeweghe said Wednesday after doctors confirmed that Nuggets power forward Nene will need surgery to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee.
"I spent my plane ride (from Denver to San Antonio) making lists and going through possible deals and different things you could do."
