The Range Rover Sport shares much of its chassis with the Land Rover Discovery 3, which was launched in autumn 2004. The two vehicles have a similar hydroformed frame, which is supplied by Chassis Systems, a joint venture between Dana and GKN. ZF Friedrichshafen delivers corner modules and six-speed automatic transmissions to both vehicles. The components in the corner modules are almost the same, but are tuned for different ride characteristics.
