ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Bausch & Lomb (NYSE:BOL) today notified the United States Securities and Exchange Commission that it will delay the filing of its Quarterly Report on Form 10-Q for the third quarter ended Sept. 24, 2005 in order for the previously announced independent investigation being conducted by the Audit Committee of the Company's Board of Directors into allegations of misconduct by the management of BL Industria Otica Ltda., the Company's subsidiary in Brazil, and the Company's evaluation of these issues, to be concluded; and for the required quarterly review procedures to be completed by PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, the Company's independent public accountants.
