Now and again I enjoy turning my attention from the epic conflicts of The Donald and his apprentices on the small screen to dust-ups among intellectuals in the halls of academia.
For me, this usually has involved Norman Mailer, Gore Vidal, William Buckley and some interesting if inept (or inebriated) fisticuffs and the usual name-calling. (Who can forget, after all, that memorable moment when Mailer threw a drink on Gore for ducking an invitation to throw down at a party - only to receive the sardonic reply from Vidal, "Once again words have failed Norman.")
