Funded through the U.S. Dept. of Energys Next Generation Natural Gas Vehicle Program (NGNGV), Southwest Research Institute (SwRI) has developed a low-emission, heavy-duty natural gas engine that is designed to meet EPA 2010 emission standards.
SwRI was contracted for the development of the engine through Mack Trucks Inc., which received funding for the project in separate agreements with National Renewable Energy Laboratories and South Coast Air Quality Management District through the NGNGV program.
