On the morning of 10 October, an ambulance squealed into the forecourt of the Mauriziano hospital in Turin. Inside was an unconscious young man, fighting for breath, and at his side, a 50-year-old woman. When the doctors examined their patient they discovered he had collapsed from taking a cocaine and heroinbased cocktail of drugs. He was rushed into intensive care.
