ASHWAUBENON -- Don't tell River Valley volleyball coach Lisa Roelke it's a disadvantage to play the same opponent three times in one season.
Roelke believes just the opposite, and the Blackhawks players validated her theory with a convincing victory Friday night. River Valley swept Appleton Xavier 25-20, 25-17, 25-19 in a WIAA Division 2 state semifinal at the Resch Center.
The No. 2-ranked Blackhawks' reward is a meeting with four-time defending champion and top-ranked Waupun in the title match at 3 p.m. today.
