TROY, Mich.--A growing number of retailers are employing teleconferences as a means of providing efficient, low-cost continuing education for their pharmacists.
A case in point is Kmart Corp. Recently over 2,000 pharmacists who work at the discount store chain's approximately 1,500 pharmacies participated in a two-hour video teleconference that focused on the implementation of the pharmacy provisions of the Omnibus Budget and Reconciliation Act of 1990.
The taped broadcast was presented twice so that all Kmart pharmacists could take advantage of the opportunity to view it, says Kmart director of recruitment and pharmacy personnel Howard Kramer. The ...
