Article: Who's who among the gods?(ACTIVITY)

Life in ancient Greece and Italy revolved around religion and the worship of many gods and goddesses. The Greeks believed in a large family of deities who lived atop Mount Olympus, the highest mountain on mainland Greece. The Etruscans (see page 44) and Romans incorporated aspects of Greek religion into their own beliefs, and many of their gods have a Greek counterpart. The Greeks, Etruscans, and Romans believed their gods and goddesses looked and behaved like humans. Although the deities were distinguished by their immortality and great powers, they still fell in love, developed friendships, felt anger and jealousy, and suffered great losses.
