This is an interesting and timely collection of 10 papers that contributes towards the growing literature on the articulation and value of social capital in a business context. The volume had its origins in an international workshop held at Brunel University, UK in 2002 entitled 'Small and Medium Sized Enterprises, Social Capital and Civic Engagement'. As a result, the volume's particular focus is on small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
