08 NOVEMBER 2005 HONIARA (Pacnews) - Solomon Islands Health Minister Benjamin Una has resigned after being charged over the alleged theft of money granted for a development project in his constituency.
Prime Minister Allan Kemakeza was in the process of appointing a new Health Minister following Mr Una's resignation, the Solomons Government communications unit said today.
Mr Una was arrested on 18 October following an investigation by a corruption task force made up of officers of Royal Solomon Islands Police and the Australian-led Regional Assistance Mission to Solomon Islands (RAMSI).
