According to figures released by industry body APACS, 'card not present' fraud, when a card is used to buy something over the internet, telephone or through mail order, was the only area of debit and credit card fraud that saw a level increase. During the six months to the end of June when compared to the same period of the previous year, 'card not present' fraud losses soared by 29% to GBP90.6 million.
