Young people aged between 15 and 20 from disadvantaged communities are being trained to be advisers on local decisions affecting them. The pilot project, which will give young people the skills to become involved in local decision making, has been launched by the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister's Neighbourhood Renewal Unit.

Four pilot areas have been selected from the 21 applications received from Neighbourhood Renewal Projects funded by the ODPM, they are:
